VHW Celebration BBQ

On the afternoon before graduation we had a celebration BBQ at Korvan for the Village Health Worker students, staff and supporters.

Our caterers for the course prepared a lovely meal for us, note bbqing indoors!

A small gift was given to the baby who had been in class with us most days while his mum studied. He was so cute and so quiet most of the time! Many of the students took turns at holding him during class and break times.

All the staff were given several gifts by the students - mats, baskets, fabric, sarongs, necklaces. Quite overwhelming, I hadn't expected anything like that. One of my mats has my name woven into it!

Two of the students, Lynn and Leilanie, had written a song and performed it for us.

There was great amusement at various attempts to get Nicola's and my feather sticks to stand up because of course they just fall straight out of our hair! Success at last with them tucked behind our ears 😂
