Team from St Kentigern School Auckland
Team of 44 arrived from St Kentigern Schools Auckland. for a weeks out reach Saturday 30 June. 22 adults and 22 students from the schools. The had three main projects while in Port Vila. painting the containers for the cafe at PCV and installing outdoor seating, building playgrounds at Etas School and Maces Schools (both a few kilometres outside Port Vila)
The Global Mission Vanuatu side of this mission trip was managed by Neville and Gloria Jones, they did a fantastic job of the coordination and support. Well done to you both.
I have some photos from the container painting, but I recommend for the complete photos of the weeks work at the schools as well as the painting visit their blog http://jonesvanuatu.blogspot.com
And most import and a big thank you to the team from St Kentigern schools.
Here are a few of the photos I took of their work around the PCV Office
Firstly the before photos
Progress photos of the work
The tables and chairs and fitting of the legs.
Leveling the ground and digging holes for the chairs and tables. Also painting in the background
The inside of the doors were painted with blackboard paint so the menus and prices could be written in chalk on the doors.
Jenita from the PCV office made the cake for the celebration thank you morning tea. The cake was made of 4 standard 10" cakes. The icing and design was also used to decorate the cake by Jenita. Well done.
Thank you speeches, and cutting the cake.
Jonathan Tarip PCV Education Authority Secretary, preparing to make a speech to thank the team. The outside of the containers were painted blue, window shutters yellow and the shelving on the servery was stained. Looks very smart
