Building Work at the Flat
There has been lots of work happening at the flat over the last couple of weeks. Tony bought a big metal gate from down at the wharf. A new concrete gate post has been poured - the formwork shutters are held in place with G-clamps.

The gate is very rusted in parts and needs quite a bit of repair work.
A metal guide rail has been cast into the ground in a very shallow footing due to the rocky soil.

Lots of work has been done on the new flat too. The gables in the background are the National Museum and Library on the hill behind us. The flat will have the ground floor finished, and then another 1 or 2 storeys will be added later. Our flat is on the left, and Tony's house on the right.

The concrete blockwork has been plastered inside and out and has it's first coat of paint on. It is just one room with a bathroom in one corner.

Most of the services are added after, not cast into the concrete at time of pouring. Not sure if this is common practice or because Tony was still making decisions on the layout after it was constructed.
