Please pray for the people of Vanuatu as theyt prepare for its General Election in March.  Elections can bring uncertainty, so pray that there will be snooth transistion to the new term.

19 August 2018

Please continue to pray for the people of Ambae Island.  They have been evacuated a second time , this time it looks like it will be permanent, or at the very least many years before they can be allowed to return to Ambae.

Thank God for the successful completion of the Village Health Workers training.

Please pray for Annette and I as we prepare to return to NZ on the 15  September, we still have work to complete in Vanuatu before our return.

Pray for the PCV General assembly on Tanna starting on the 25 August. it will last 8 days. Pray for the safe travel for all those involved, fro the village hosting the General assembly and the successful completion of PCV business General Assembly.

10 July 2018
Include in your prayers the 33 Village Health Workers who in the next few days leave for their home villages to start work as health workers. That they will make a difference in their islands.

25 April 2018

Please include the people of  Ambae in your prayers .  The Government has made the decision to permanently evacuate the island. Please pray for the islanders, the Government Agencies assisting, foreign Governments assistance, and local NGOs.

12 April 2018
The island of Ambae is suffering from the effects of volcanic activity from Manaro Voui.  Large ash clouds from the volcano drift over the island and the ash is falling and covering crops and homes.

11 April 2018
Include the people of Fiji in your prayers as they recover from another tropical cyclone as TC Keni moves away from the islands.

08 March 2018
Please pray for the people of Vanuatu as Tropical Cyclone Hola passes over the Vanuatu islands.  There will be flooding, strong winds and tidal surges.

25 October 2017
Thank you God for sending rain for the dry ground! Thanks also for rain on Ambae - the people returning have discovered that much of the ash has been washed off plants and they have not been completely destroyed. They still need lots of help though as their stock has wandered or been killed by the dogs that had to be left behind.

24 October 2017
Continue to pray for the people of Ambae Island. Particularly as the Government starts returning the people back to Ambae.

Pray for the people of Vanuatu in general as several islands (Including Efate , Tanna and Ambrym) that are in drought conditions.

20 October 2017
Pray for the island of Ambrym.  The volcanoes are increasing in activity, and there is a drought and drinkable water is very not easily available.

19 October 2017
The Government is preparing to start returning the residence of Ambae to their Island.  It will be the fit and healthy adults that return first, some families will return with their children but only the young pikininis (the older children are sitting end of year exams so need to stay where they can complete the exams).  Please pray for the residents returning to the island, the families separated by the disaster, the agencies helping, the Government.  The island isn't well suited to living there.  There will be a lot of work to come.  Gardens have been devastated by ash and animals.  Water supplies are contaminated with the ash and the sulpher. (that includes the wells, rivers, storage tanks)

16 October 2017

Please continue to pray for the people of Ambae Island.  The volcano has settled down and the warning level has been down-graded.  The state of emergency is still in place. It may be some time before they can return home. Their garden vegetables and fruit may have been ruined by the ash and acid rain, water sources have been contaminated such as storage tanks, wells and rivers, and their livestock affected .The country side, houses and villages are covered in ash.

26 September 2017
Please pray for the people living on Ambae Island.  The evacuation of the population is underway as the volcano increases its activity. It is now category 4 (out of 5),  The eruptions are affecting the water supply as ash and sulphur gets into ground water, water tanks and rivers. The evacuation is impacting lives and whole communities.  Please include the people and communities in your prayers

8 April 2017
Please pray for the people of Vanuatu as they face the danger of Cyclone Cook. Pray that there will be help provided to put their homes and lives back together after the cyclone has moved on

Hi

On our home page on our blog we have created a second tab called "Prayer Requests and Praise"

On this page we will post prayer requests and praise for the people of Vanuatu, and maybe for us as well.  We will post items of need that we see in Vanuatu.  Maybe you or a group of friends, work mates, school group or church group could help support these requests by giving items or financial support to the people of Vanuatu.

If you do feel the calling to help by either giving items or financial support please do not post your thoughts on our blog, but rather contact us directly by emailing us at nicemice@ihug.co.nz.  We will then help you to facilitate your giving to the people of Vanuatu.

Blessings

Martyn and Annette
