The PCV has two containers it has converted into a Cafe. The PWMU (Presbyterians Womens Mission Union) run the cafe.  One container has tea, coffee, cold drinks (made with fresh island fruit), sandwiches and cakes. The second container serves a meal.  The containers need some more work in my view, they get very hot in this climate.  some outside seating under the mango tree, and some roofing over the containers and the outside area to give some additional shade.

This is a meal prepared by the cook Alice. For this you get a big pile of rice, a stew or casserole of some sort, (each day one type of meat either chicken, fish or beef), today is beef, manioc and island cabbage. (that is a bit like spinach). This costs 300 VT that is about NZD$4,00.  Since I have recovered I am eating like a horse. And the food is delicious.

  1. So glad you are now recovered. What is manioc? The food looks really good! What about some insulation in the container, and some more ventilation?
