New Zealand Winter

We had not experienced a New Zealand winter for nearly two years, so we were not sure how we would cope. And we have coped reasonably well. We had a few frosts to remind us of what 0 degrees feels like. In the Waikato when there is a hard frost, the day usually is clear with little cloud and a beautiful day.

View from our or back yard looking towards the park. The grass covered in frost.

It was a very light frost,

just enough ice to make a smilie face on the outdoor table.

Then there is the Waikato fog a day or so latter.

Fortunately it didn't hang around long and was followed by a beautiful day.
For our ni-Vanuatu friends, here is a fairly typical Hamilton street.

Some of the trees still have their Autumn colour on.
