Medical Sailing Ministries Mission 4 Update
17 to the 20 September 2017.

Annette has been off the grid since Sunday morning.  They are now offshore at Vanualava Island.  The cell phone coverage is still patchy, so not much in the way of communication.  Annette has sent a few photos through of the last few days.

Please go and read more detailed stories of the Chimere's travels on their website at http://msm.org.au  they are updating news there by satellite phone messages.

This is Aldrin an Aid Post Worker.  He is sitting on canes and natangura leaves ready to make the thatched roofing panels.  There is a pile of completed panels on the left of the photo.

Leaving Merelava Island. Notice the rocks and how tricky it is to get equipment and people ashore.

Martin Burgess trying to sort out the drama as they tried to depart Merelava with the broken stern anchor rope, using the compressed air line from the deck . Go to the MSM website for a full story of this adventure.  It is well worth reading.

The Chimere had to bypass the tiny Merig Island.  The sea was too rough to attempt to call in and drop off medical supplies.

This is on the north east of Gaua Island. Its a beautiful island. The Chimere has just past inside the reef.  the water is a lovely colour, but visibility was not good, so no snorkeling today

Namasari Village is really pretty. All our gear was hand carried from the dinghy into the village centre

Captain Annette took the helm this morning. She said it was hard work but good.  The lads also caught two tuna while they were sailing to Vanualava Island.
