Nicola and Jai Arrive 😃
The first of our family / friends have arrived. Our youngest daughter Nicola and her boyfriend Jairus got in at midnight on Thursday night (technically Friday morning).
After a brief lie-in, due to being woken fairly early by dogs and roosters, we took them for a walk around downtown including the market.
Then we took them over to Hideaway Island for swimming and snorkeling.
Looks like Nicola is doing a high leg lift! She's not 😆. Jai had a great time filming fish on his new underwater camera - there were heaps!
In the late afternoon we went to Mele Beach Bar for dinner and Fire Dancing. John and Rose (Jai's parents) joined us there.
Green coconuts make a refreshing snack.
On Saturday John and Rose joined us again and we all checked out the International Food Festival that was on in town and bought some yummy snacks. We took them as our picnic, and jumped on a bus to Tanna Coffee. At the coffee house, they take the green coffee beans from Tanna Island and roast them and grind them, serve them and also sell packets to take away. Had a very nice coffee there, then caught another bus to Mele Cascades, where we had our picnic lunch. We walked up the path beside the river to the big waterfall at the top, and had a swim in the rock pools there.
After all the rain we have had, there was plenty of water to make it spectacular. There's Nicola being a mermaid.

Martyn, John and Nicola pick their way carefully.

We came back to the flat for tea (John and Rose left us to it), then we went to the Brewery pub to watch the All Black's second test against the Lions. Much to Martyn's delight, the Lions won.
