It's not all doom and gloom though. This spider has made its web on our clothes line, and formed a perfect X out of white zigzag machine stitching!

 I saw these lovely flowers on the side of the road on the way to the shops,

and this creeper similar to Monstera deliciosa climbing up a tree. I don't think Grandma's one at Bell Rd got quite that big.
